Dr. Douglas M. Cox

Dr.Douglas M.Cox Dr. Cox was born in Dayton Ohio, and attended undergraduate at the University of Cincinnati. He completed his chiropractic education at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Cox spent his first 3 years practicing at Wright Health Clinic in Naperville, Illinois, before establishing the Cox Clinic in Charlottesville, March of 1982.

Dr. Cox earned his certification in acupuncture in 1981 and his Diplomat in Chiropractic Orthopedics in 1987. His particular chiropractic/acupuncture interests include the treatment of headaches, neck and low back pain along with sports injuries.

On a professional level, Dr. Cox has held numerous positions for the Virginia Chiropractic Association including the position of president 1999-2000, and the Virginia State Representative for the American Chiropractic Association in 2001. Dr. Cox has twice been honored with the Virginia Chiropractor of the Year award by the Virginia Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Cox's family consists of his wife, Jayne, and two daughters, Amber and Logan, who both attend James Madison University.

Dr. Cox has been active in the community by being a member in the past of the local Jaycees and Rotary Club, and currently sits on the advisory board of Habitat for Humanity.

Dr. Wayne S. Fusco

Dr.Fusco Dr. Wayne Fusco joined The Cox Clinic in 2003. He earned his bachelor's degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he graduated with magna cum laude honors. He then attended Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri, where he was the Salutatorian, graduating with summa cum laude honors, and earning a second bachelor's degree in Biology and a doctorial degree in Chiropractic.

Dr. Fusco has lectured about ergonomics, nutrition, workplace injury prevention, and back safety for several companies, schools, and organizations, such as The University of Virginia, Piedmont Community College, LexisNexis, State Farm, Northrup Grumman Sperry Marine, and The Charlottesville City Schools. He has authored several articles on health topics such as headaches, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, and nutritional supplementation.

When Dr. Fusco is not with patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife Katie, and two boys, Kai and Quinn, born in February 2007 and 2009 respectively.

Susette, Chiropractic Assistant/Office Manager

Susette Susette has been with the Cox Clinic since 1985. In that time she has become an indispensable member of the clinic as well as becoming very active in the chiropractic community.

She has attended countless professional seminars to improve her skills and has received certificates from Parker Research Foundation, National College of Chiropractic and New York Chiropractic College. In 1995 she was awarded chiropractic assistant of the year.

She currently serves as President of the VCA Auxiliary, which provides continued education seminars for C.A.’s and supports the VCA with its projects.

In our office Susette handles all claims submitted to insurance companies. Any insurance questions regarding coverage, re-imbursement, chiropractic benefits or co-pays should be directed to her. Susette is also in charge of setting up financial arrangements or payment plans if necessary.

In Susette’s free time she enjoys riding horses and spending time with her family. She is happily married to her husband Cliff and they have two daughters - Alexis and Gabrielle.

Bonnie

Bonnie Bonnie joined The Cox Clinic of Chiropractic in March of 2002, but is no stranger to chiropractic care. Prior to joining our clinic, Bonnie worked as a chiropractic assistant for Dr. Kenneth Haas, D.C., C.C.S.P. at Seminole Total Health for the ten years.

She has attended numerous seminars held by the New York Chiropractic College and the Virginia Chiropractic Association. She performs many tasks in our office, including front desk reception, vitamin inventory, patient chart coordination, and is our new patient advocate.

Bonnie lives with her husband Eric, and her two-year old son, Ryan. She enjoys spending time with her family, renovating their 1946 home, camping, crafts and painting.

Milissa

Milissa Milissa joined The Cox Clinic staff in May of 2002 after enjoying eight years of working in retail. She spends most of her time as our front desk receptionist, coordinating patient appointments and performing data entry.

She is happily married to her husband, Kenny, who co-owns Advanced Plumbing Services in Charlottesville. The have a daughter, Hannah, and a son, Cameron.

In Milissa's free time she enjoys doing crafts and spending time with her family.

Laura

Laura Laura joined the Cox Clinic in March of 2000. Prior to joining our clinic, Laura worked for 12 years in a physical therapy department and for an orthopedic surgeon in upstate New York. In our office she leads the staff in the application of physical therapies such as muscle stimulation, ultrasound, and traction. She is also trained as a Chiropractic Assistant to handle patient management and front desk duties.

Laura is happily married, enjoys gardening, and spends much of her free time taking pictures as an amateur photographer. She has sold several of her pictures to Charlottesville area residents and hopes to continue to grow. She also enjoys spending time with her two border collies, camping, and hiking throughout the area.

Brianna

Brianna Brianna is the newest member of the Cox Chiropractic team. She joined our office in November, 2010. She is tasked with "doing everything", from patient coordination, handling insurance claims, performing physical therapeutics, and scheduling.

When she isn't working, Brianna enjoys hiking, backpacking, traveling, rock climbing, and doing mission work overseas. Additionally, she volunteers in the local community with her church, CFA.
